As in the past, this page has opened with an account of our December meeting. Last year's didn't happen because of the snow but this year we were more lucky. Virtually all our members were able to be present along with a couple of guests, as well, so there was a great atmosphere.
The guest judge for our traditional
'Boys v Girls' Competition was an old friend of ours, from Darwen, Graham Dean. As we'd hoped, Graham threw himself into the mood of the day and seasoned the serious nature of the competition with a good sprinkling of humour. Serious because the 'Girls' were on a mission .......... last year, for the first time, they were beaten by the 'Boys'. It was time for a 'comeback'! The 'Girls' came back strongly (nothing to do with bribing the judge!!) and managed to claim the laurels again!
We took a long break in the middle of the competition to re-fill our glasses and help ourselves to 'nibbles' whilst we all caught up with friends against a background of pictures from the 'Best of the Best' cd from the PSA.
