Welcome to the new page for Audio Visual Sequences (AVs) made by members of SLIC

AV interests are an extension of our club's photographic activities.

We aim to include people who not only want to create AVs for competitions but also those who want to create sequences to share with family and friends, recording their family celebrations, events and holidays etc. We want to include people who just want to play and experiment with what can be done in the software; to include people who have images that they wish to set to music for mood, humour, entertaiment and pleasure; to include those who just want to enjoy looking at sequences; in fact, anyone with any interest in audio visual at all.

We don't have any 'experts'; we're all on the learning curve together, sharing what we know and what we find out. The software used in club presentations is Pictures to Exe, although some of our members do use other software to produce their sequences.

If you're new to all this, but want to get started, here are some 'How to......' files to help you.

The first is a file called 'Getting Started with PtoE and Audacity'. It doesn't, however, set out to be a manual on these two programmes. It's a step-by-step guide to setting up the basic PtoE project and creating a basic background soundtrack; plus there are also some observations on how we might think about planning the sequence and links to other websites that may be useful. Just the features that really need to be considered when first starting out (but not everything that is there to be found) have been covered.
Experience will open the doors to other, more sophisticated options.

The file can be downloaded, either as a .rtf file or as an OpenOffice, .odt file:

The second' file is called 'Getting Started with Objects and Animation in PtoE'. It introduces you to the Objects and Animations window and takes you through the various settings, using keyframes and the timeline. There are also step-by-step instructions to create a basic, 2D animation with a background and 3 animated objects, together with a mini-project file to illustrate the instructions.
It can be downloaded, either as a .rtf file or as an OpenOffice, .odt file, and the project as a zip file:

The links below wil take you to sequences made by our members. They will activate a .exe file download, to your computer, which can then be activated by a double-click on the mouse, and will run without any additional software (make sure computer speakers are switched on!).
